About
I am a cultural and historical geographer. I joined the faculty at East Carolina University in 2000 after holding a tenure-track position at Georgia College, a visiting position at Georgia Southern University, and temporary faculty/graduate teaching positions at the University of Georgia. In my picture, I am delivering the keynote address at the East Carolina University new student convocation to kick off the 2011-2012 academic year. I am a devoted scholar-teacher who enjoys working with students and assisting the community and the media.
